All cakes considered with a choice of three type frostings this is a delicious and really quick cake.
Ingredients
- 1 box Yellow Cake Mix
- 1 (21 oz) can apple pie filling
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg (optional)
- Crumb Topping:
- ½ cup flour
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 4 tablespoons softened butter
- Powdered Sugar Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- milk (see instructions)
Directions
Step 1
In a medium bowl, mix the apple pie filling and eggs together. Add the cake mix, cinnamon and water to the mixture and stir to combine.
Step 2
Pour into a lightly floured, greased 9x13 pan. Top with crumb topping. Bake about 10 minutes longer than the time suggested on the cake mix box.
Step 3
For the crumb topping, mix in butter with flour, cinnamon and brown sugar until crumbs form. Sprinkle crumbs over top of cake.
Step 4
For the glaze: combine the powdered sugar, the melted butter and the vanilla. Add the milk last, using only as much as to turn the mixture into a thick syrup. Glaze the cake while still warm.
Step 5
Or simply dust with powdered sugar and serve.
