Back in the 70’s this cake was one of the most popular cakes being baked. This is a moist melt in your mouth cake that has an amazing aroma that fills the house when it’s baking.

Ingredients

  • 1 box butter cake mix
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup Crisco Oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 pint sour cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • Cake Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Set aside. In a large glass bowl, combine the cake mix, sugar, oil, and sour cream. Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add the pecans to the batter.

Step 2

In a greased, floured tube pan, pour half of the batter. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter and then pour the remainder of the batter on top. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour.

Step 3

To make the cake glaze, combine the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla, mix well. Pour over the cake while it is still warm.
