A classic pumpkin bread from C&H Sugars. So easy to prepare; turns out real easy – with a flavor that is as good and American as apple pie.
Ingredients
- 1 cup dark brown sugar firmly packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup cooked or canned pumpkin
- 1/2 cup salad oiil
- 2 eggs unbeaten
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon each salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1/4 cup water
Directions
Step 1
Combine sugars, pumpkin, oil, and eggs; beat until well blended.
Step 2
Stir together flour, soda, salt, and spices; add and mix well.
Step 3
Stir in raisins, nuts, and water.
Step 4
Spoon into a well oiled 9 x 5 x 3" loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 65 to 75 minutes, or until done when tested.
Step 5
Turn out on rack to cool thoroughly.
