Mint Julep

Get your hat ….The Kentucky Derby is on – Mint Juleps are a sell out. Some Mint Julep have sold for as high as $2,000 a drink. If that is too fancy for you, try making your own. Very easy to do!

Ingredients

  • 4 oz Kentucky Bourbon
  • 2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 4 to 6 mint leaves

Directions

Step 1

So first you need to put the mint leaves in the mixing glass, at the bottom. Put 2 teaspoons of sugar on top. Muddle it, just to get the oil aroma of the mint and sugar mixing together. Mix in the Bourbon A cocktail shaker works really well for this recipe. Add the mint leaves at the bottom of the shaker and pour 2 tsp sugar over the leaves. Take a pestle and grind the mint leaves into the sugar. Add the bourbon, the ice and shake it. .After shaking pour the mixture in a straight glass full of ice. Garnish with mint leaves.
