Here is a dish for your “meat and potato” kids. You can’t go wrong with meatloaf. It goes great with mashed potatoes and gravy.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs ground meat
- 1 cup fresh bread crumbs
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 tbsp vinegar
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Directions
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2
Mix ground meat, breadcrumbs, onion, beaten egg, salt, pepper, and 1/2 can of the tomato sauce. Form into a loaf and put into an oiled 7x10 inch loaf pan.
Step 3
For the sauce topping, combine all the remaining ingredients, using the remainder of the tomato sauce and pour over the meat loaf.
Step 4
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, 15 minutes, basting occasionally.
