Hot summer days, my Mom and I would get my children and make this for them. It was great fun and the children had a blast making homemade ice cream.
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs well. Mix the cornstarch and sugar together and add this mix to the eggs a little at a time. Put aside.
In a heavy medium pan, scald the milk. Scald the milk by pouring the milk into a saucepan over medium-low heat, taking care to stir constantly, until bubbles just start to pour and then remove from heat. Do not allow the milk to boil or burn.
Add the egg and sugar mixture slowly to the milk. Cook on a low fire until thick (has the texture of a creamy custard). Turn off the heat. Add the Pet milk, vanilla and banana (the riper the better) or cherries or any other fruit you choose. Follow the instructions per the ice cream machine.
