Perfect for cakes and sweet dough tarts! Being from a large family, we loved when Momma made her German chocolate cake. The kids would fight to lick the spoon.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 block butter
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 1/4 cup evaporated milk
- 1 tsp vanilla ( I only use Big Chief)
- 1 cup pecans chopped
- 1 1/4 cup coconut
Directions
Step 1
Blend egg yolks into sugar, add butter, milk and vanilla until gentle rolling boil.
Step 2
Cook on low, stirring very often, for 12 minutes.
Step 3
Add pecans and coconut.... Cool completely.
Step 4
Makes 1 recipe to frost one box cake mix.
