In medium saucepan, combine milk, sugar, egg yolks, and margarine. Add vanilla. Cook over low heat stirring constantly until thickened; approximately 12 minutes.
Remove from heat and add the coconut and chopped pecans. Beat until thick enough to spread. Great for German chocolate cake!
