Stir together in a bowl, sugar and flour. In saucepan bring to boil the Crisco, water, cocoa and butter. Add in the sugar and flour, and mix together. Incorporate the eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, soda and a pinch of salt, mix well.
Pour into greased 13x9 pan. Bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.
Icing:
In a saucepan add 1 stick of butter, 3 1/2 tablespoons cocoa, 1/3 cup milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla. Heat over medium heat and when the bubbles stop remove from heat. Add the box of confectionery sugar and stir well. Frost the cake as soon as it comes out of the oven.
