Cajun Firecrackers

Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups Canola oil
- 2 packages Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Powder Mix
- 2 tbsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 box saltine crackers (4 sleeves)
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Remove crackers from sleeves and lay in a marinating Tupperware container standing up. All four sleeves will fit perfectly.
- In a large bowl, mix the canola oil, Ranch dressing powder, and crushed red pepper flakes together well. Pour over the crackers and close up the container.
- Flip the container every 15 minutes for 1 hour (a total of 4 times). Once the crackers have been flipped 4 times, they are ready to eat! No baking, just take a bite.
- Optional: Add garlic powder to the oil mixture. Add as little or as much as you want for extra flavor.
Common Problems and Solutions
Q: Why aren't my crackers absorbing the oil mixture evenly?
A: Make sure to flip the container every 15 minutes as directed. Standing the crackers upright in the container helps the oil mixture coat all sides evenly as you flip.
Q: Can I use less oil if it seems like too much?
A: The full amount of oil is needed to coat all 4 sleeves of crackers. If you use less, some crackers won't get seasoned properly.
Tips and Techniques
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 1 week. The crackers will stay crispy and flavorful. For extra heat, increase the crushed red pepper to 3 tablespoons or add a dash of cayenne pepper to the mix.
