Basic Classic Cornbread

This is a basic cornbread that old Cajuns used to eat with cracklins and milk.
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup yellow corn meal
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 can cream corn (optional)
Directions
Step 1
In a medium glass bowl, combine all the dry ingredients; then add the eggs, oil and milk. Stir to blend all ingredients. Do not overbeat.
Step 2
Pour into a greased 10 inch iron skillet or pan. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes.
